Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –

This is a combined Digest this month. We had an Aleppo Workshop Meeting on Monday, August 10, 2026 and a Legislative Meeting on Monday, August 17, 2026, and this is what happened at both meetings.

If you want to watch the August 10th Workshop Meeting from the beginning, Click here. Otherwise, feel free to click the links below to jump to the portions of the meeting that are of particular interest to you.

Here is what happened:

  • The Township received four bids for the final phase of the Rhodes Avenue project with Cronin Enterprises Civil and Rail Division LLC coming in as the lowest bid. (Click hereto watch this portion of the meeting).

  • A resident on Glenfield Road reached out via email in support of a weight limit on Glenfield Road. (Click hereto watch this portion of the meeting).

  • President Haluka shared updated information regarding the costs and fundraising objectives of the Quaker Valley Ambulance Authority regarding their service K-9. Commissioner Jones suggested the Board consider making a motion at the Legislative Meeting to donate $1,500 towards the fundraising request. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

  • A resident of McCoy Place presented a handout to the board regarding her concerns with a fireworks display that happens annually in her neighborhood.  She would like Aleppo Township to consider a fireworks ordinance that would require regulate displays.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

  • A summary of the Aleppo Township Communications Policy was discussed.  Public comments shared at meetings will state the name and address of the resident as part of the Right To Know Law, but we want to assure residents that they can still anonymously call in complaints, concerns, or requests.  If the calls or emails are in regard to public comments in or response to a meeting, the residents name and address would be stated.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

If you want to watch the August 17th Legislative Meeting from the beginning, Click here. Otherwise, feel free to click the links below to jump to the portions of the meeting that are of particular interest to you.

Here is what happened:

  • Sergeant Adam Beck gave the police report for the month of July.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

  • There were several Public Works topics: the Board voted to accept the bid from Cronin Enterprises in the amount of $141,965 for the Rhodes Avenue repairs; the sinkhole repair needed on School Street was discussed; and the high road salt bid received by SHACOG (where we normally purchase our salt) was explained.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

  • Emails were received from two more citizens regarding a potential fireworks ordinance.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

  • Commissioner Jones reported that the Aleppo Township Authority was 99% complete with their water line work on Glen Mitchell Road. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

  • Aleppo’s 150th Birthday:  Aleppo Township is 150 years old!  The Township is looking for a way to commemorate this milestone.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

  • Citizen Participation. Several residents of Glenfield Road attended the meeting to express their concerns about the amount of large truck traffic on the road and also concerns about a utility line project using St. Mary Church as a staging area.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

Our next Legislative Meeting is tonight, Monday, September 14, 2026, at 7:00 PM. If any of these issues are important to you, please feel free to contact me via phone or email prior to the meeting and I will convey your thoughts to the Commissioners. The meetings are open to the public and citizens are invited to attend in person.
