Hi, Neighbors. We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting last week and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here’s what happened:

Of particular interest was a discussion concerning door-to-door solicitations (both lawful and unlawful), so please watch this section of the video if you are getting unwanted knocks on your door. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • Tom Jarvie reported that the Public Works department has been busy installing a stop sign, repairing a sinkhole, and documenting our catch basins. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • Treasurer Clayton Steup told us how much we have collected in taxes and how much we have in the bank. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • Commissioner Williams told us about a meeting with the Aleppo Township Authority engineer, including an observation that the Authority has been spending approximately $10,000 per year to have the engineer perform administrative or clerical tasks. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • I told the board that the QVCOG has made an offer to a candidate for the Executive Director position. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)

  • Manager Patterson updated us on the MS4 Storm Water requirements. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • We discussed conducting an analysis of the municipal pension plans. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)

Our next Workshop meeting will be on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 7:00 PM in the large assembly room at Masonic Village. If any of these issues are important to you, please feel free to join us and voice your opinion. If you cannot attend the meeting in person, please feel free to share your thoughts with me by email and I will be sure to convey your feelings to the other commissioners.

As always, thanks for making Aleppo a great place to live.

Best wishes,

Matthew Doebler

Aleppo Township Commissioner
