We had an Aleppo Workshop Meeting on Monday night, May 8, 2023, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:
- Earth Day Roadside Cleanup Event volunteers collected over 50 bags of trash and many miscellaneous kinds of debris from along the roadways. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #EarthDay

- We have received one application so far for the vacancy on the Planning Commission. This vacancy will be filled at the June Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Vacancy #PlanningCommission
- The Commissioners voted to approve the bid of $569,789.65 from Youngblood Paving for the 2023 Road Paving Project. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Paving
- Aleppo Township Commissioners were invited to participate in Leetsdale’s Annual 4th of July Parade (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #FourthOfJulyParade
- The Board considered a proposal to retrofit the lighting in the Township Building and Public Works Garage to LED lights through a Duquesne Light program that will pay a significant portion of the costs. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #LEDLights

Here is what happened:
- Chief Hanny gave the Police Report for the month of March. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police

- State Representative Valerie Gaydos attended the meeting to congratulate Aleppo Township on being awarded the Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence. The Township won the award for this meeting digest system – we were recognized for the way we stream and record the meetings, send out digests following the meeting, and categorize the discussions using hashtags on our website so that topics are searchable by keyword.
