We had an Aleppo Workshop Meeting on Monday night, September 13, 2021, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • The Board learned about the Refuse and Recycling Contract Bid Results.  This contract is on the agenda for a vote at the September Legislative meeting.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • The Commissioners reapproved the Core Sampling Proposal from HRG for Roads in Sewickley Ridge Neighborhood to include Rockledge Drive. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • The required 2022 payments into the Police and Non-Uniform Pension Funds were discussed.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • An update on the enforcement of the property complaint about 241 Weber Road was provided.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, August 16, 2021, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • The Commissioners adopted a Resolution recommending the avoidance of coal tar sealants within the Township.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • The Commissioners adopted a Resolution approving the disposal of old records in accordance with the Municipal Records Manual  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Chief Hanny gave the police report. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Emergency Management Coordinator Judy Haluka gave an update on COVID at Masonic Village and in our region. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Public Works Supervisor Tim Scott gave his monthly report.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • The Board approved a proposal for core boring the Roads in the Sewickley Ridge Neighborhood (excluding Rockledge Drive). (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • The Board voted to approve and sign the Developer’s Agreement and the Stormwater Management Agreement between the Township and Mygrant Glass for the new building to be constructed on Deer Run Road.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Tax Collector/Treasurer Clayton Steup gave his report on the finances for the month of July. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Property tax refunds under the Act 172 first responder tax credit program were approved. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • A Resolution authorizing a 50-year extension of the existence of the Quaker Valley Ambulance Authority was approved.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • The Commissioners heard about the bids received by the Quaker Valley COG for the new five-year refuse and recycling contract. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

  • The Quaker Valley Ambulance Authority Incorporation Resolution extending the existence of the QVAA for another 50 years was discussed and will be voted on at the August Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • The Coal Tar Sealant Resolution regarding driveway and parking lot sealants was discussed and will be voted on at the August Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

Here is what happened:

  • Police Chief Hanny gave the police report, including an update on the man seen on several security cameras in Sewickley Heights Manor and the upcoming second closure of the Neville Island Bridge portion of I-79 North. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Emergency Management Coordinator Judy Haluka reported on the emergency management assessment of performance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

  • Quaker Valley Ambulance Authority representative Mary Carolyn Nash explained a request from QVAA for a Resolution to authorize their existence for another 50 years. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
