Hello Neighbors. We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting recently and I wanted to tell you what happened.

If you want to watch the meeting from the beginning click here.  Otherwise, feel free to click the links below to jump to the portions of the meeting that are of particular interest to you.

Here’s what happened:

  • Chief Miklos reported on the police presence in our Township. He told us about another set of telephone scams involving callers pretending to represent Verizon and asking for credit card numbers. Remember friends, NEVER give personal or credit card information to questionable callers! (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • Manager Patterson told us what the Public Works department has been doing. Once again, our roads have looked great in the face of winter weather. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • Manager Gwen Patterson also explained the Masonic Village Property Consolidation Plan. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • We heard the finance reports for the month of January 2016 and voted (4-0) to adopt a Credit Card Use Policy for the Township. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • We discussed a request from the Aleppo Township Authority for reimbursement of pump station repairs. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • Commissioner Schollaert gave us a brief report on the Quaker Valley Ambulance Authority. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • We voted (4-0) to send a letter of support for Quaker Valley Recreational Association to apply for a County Grant. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)
  • Manager Patterson reported about Union Aid Society: they provide several programs for financial assistance and housing. If you know of any residents needing their support, please call the Union Aid Society or the Township Office for information. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.)

Our next Workshop meeting will be on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Township Building. If any of these issues are important to you, please feel free to join us and voice your opinion. If you cannot attend the meeting in person, please feel free to share your thoughts with me by email and I will be sure to convey your feelings to the other commissioners.

As always, thanks for making Aleppo a great place to live.

Best wishes,

Matthew Doebler

Aleppo Township Commissioner
