Hi, Neighbors. We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting last week and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Before I get into the digest, let me just say that this was my last Aleppo meeting and I am very grateful to all the township’s residents for letting me serve for the last 6 years. OK, sentimentality out of the way, here’s what happened:
- We heard what the police department has been up to in Aleppo Township. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #Police

- I read an email from a resident in support of HR 763. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #Resident #HR763
- We voted (5-0) to approve the submitted Verizon covered parking lot plan as recommended by the planning commission and HRG subject to entering into a Developer’s Agreement prepared by and acceptable to the Township Solicitor. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #Verizon #HRG
- We heard a presentation from Braiden Blosser, who is a candidate for the opening on the Zoning Hearing Board and made a motion to appoint him. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) - Our treasurer told us how much tax revenue we have collected and how much money we have in the bank. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #TaxCollector
- Our solicitor told us that the Verizon Franchise Agreement is ready for board approval–we will be discussing that next month. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #Solicitor #Verizon
- We voted (5-0) to contact the DEP to ask them to make a site inspection of 690 Glen Mitchell Road. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #DEP #GlenMitchellRoad
- We voted (5-0) to adopt the May 2019 version of the Emergency Operations Procedure for Aleppo Township. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #EmergencyManagement
- We voted (5-0) to hire technicians to perform AV tasks at Township meetings in the amount of $100 per meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #AVTechnicians
- We made a motion to adopt a statement saying “The Board of Commissioners of Aleppo Township support HR 763, the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act. We urge our elected leaders to support this as a potential solution to climate change.” We voted (5-0) to defer this motion until there are 5 members of the board. - During Citizen Participation, a resident opposed any action concerning HR 763, another asked about plans for repair of Redgate Road, and a third expressed concern for litter in the lot that is being used for truck parking along Deer Run Road.
