New Residents

Welcome to Aleppo! We’re glad you chose to make our neighborhood your new home. As you settle in, here are a few helpful pointers that may make your adjustment easier.

REGISTER FOR EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS

Perhaps the most critical thing you can do as a new resident is register for our Emergency Notification System, which is called CodeRed. CodeRed sends robocalls and text message alerts to residents in an emergency. You must register your telephone numbers to receive these critical messages in an emergency–to do so, please click here.

FINDING US

The township’s Municipal Building is located at 100 North Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143. Feel free to stop by and ask any questions. We’ve crammed lots of information into this website, so take a minute to surf around. However, we also know that sometimes, you just want to talk to a person. So feel free to give us a call at 412-741-6555 or send an email to info@aleppotownship.com (you don’t think anybody reads emails sent to “info@” email addresses, but we actually do!)

WATER AND SEWAGE

One of the first things you’ll want to be able to do is flush your toilet. That means you’ll have to get an account set up with the Aleppo Township Authority, which is the water and sewer service provider for the municipality. One phone call to the ATA gets the ball rolling: 412-741-7755. Visit them online at http://aleppoauthority.org/

TRASH AND RECYCLING

You’ve probably already got a bag of trash and a pizza box that needs to be picked up. Trash pickup in Aleppo Township is on Tuesdays and you should have it out by 6:00 AM. Recycling is every other Tuesday and it can go out in any container that is clearly marked as recycling (If you’re not sure about whether it’s a recycling week, just look to see if your neighbors have theirs out!). Click here to see the current Trash and Recycling collection schedule.

Here are a few more quick details about life in Aleppo:

  • click here to update your voter registration information;
  • if your employer will be withholding local income tax on your behalf, you may need the Aleppo “PSD” code, which is 711101. Click here for more information about taxes;
  • Aleppo is served by the Ohio Township Police Department. In an emergency or any situation that requires a police response, dial 911. If you have questions or need to speak with the office, call the Ohio Township Police Department directly at 412-259-8304.

Finally, please participate in your local government. Our meetings are the second and third Monday of every month at 7:00 PM at the Township Building. Click here to see our calendar to translate that into actual dates. If you can’t make it to a meeting, we have an innovative system of streaming and recording our meetings on YouTube that makes it easy to stay informed using your computer or smart phone. Click here to see what we’ve discussed in the past and click here to sign up for emails following our meetings explaining our current topics. (We’re your neighbors. We don’t want to get SPAM, either. Trust us, the emails you’ll get from us will not be junk.)

Again, if you have any questions, feel free to stop in, call, or send an email. We hope your move is smooth and we’ll look forward to seeing you around the neighborhood.
