We had an Aleppo Workshop Meeting on Monday night, January 9, 2023, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:
- The proposed Ordinance Prohibiting the Feeding of Deer will be on the agenda for approval at the January Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Deer #Ordinance
- Appointments to Boards and Commissions will be made at the January Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #BoardOfCommissioners

- There will be an opening on the Aleppo Township Authority Board sometime in the next few months as one member plans to retire from the Board. If interested, please contact either the Township or the Authority for information about the Authority Board position. - The Public Works department was authorized to place an order for a new dump truck, plow, and spreader. This new truck will replace the Township’s existing 2006 dump truck. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #PublicWorks #DumpTruck

We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, January 16, 2023, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:
- The Ordinance prohibiting the feeding of deer was adopted. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Deer #Ordinance
- Chief Hanny gave the December 2022 police report and announced the upcoming I-79 South ramp closure. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police #RampClosure
- Public Works Supervisor Tim Scott gave the Public Works report. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #PublicWorks
- The Tax Collector/Treasurer report was given to the Commissioners. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #TaxCollector
- The Quaker Valley COG will host a GIS mapping presentation at the Sewickley Library in February. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #QuakerValleyCOG #GIS
- The Commissioners approved the design and bid agreement with HRG Engineering for the 2023 Paving Project. The bid results will determine the scope of the project, but the goal is to pave Sewickley Ridge Drive, Sewickley Ridge Circle, and Sewickley Ridge Court and to tar and chip multiple roads throughout the Township, including roads in the Weber Road neighborhood, McCoy Place Road, and South McCoy Place Road. Here is what happened:
- The Ordinance prohibiting the feeding of deer was adopted in January. We will contact the Sewickley Herald to ask them to publicize this new law. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Deer #Ordinance
- There is an open seat on the Planning Commission and there will be an opening on the Aleppo Township Authority Board in the near future. Please check the Latest News page on the Township website or contact the Township Manager for details on the positions. - The Vescio Plan of Lots Subdivision Application to divide one parcel into two lots will be on the agenda for approval at next week’s Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #VescioSubdivision #RedgateRoad
- A contract with Code.sys Code Consulting, Inc. for building inspection services was provided to the Commissioners. - Act 172 Property Tax Refunds for first responders will be approved at Monday’s Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #PropertyTaxRefunds

Here is what happened:

- The Commissioners heard an update about revised plans for a lot in the Industrial Park, and Solicitor Stone gave an update about a developer’s plans for homes proposed to be built in Glen Osborne on land that abuts Aleppo Township. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Solicitor

- There were some changes to the Aleppo Township Authority Board: Commissioner Daniel Darragh resigned from the Authority Board, and two new members were appointed. - Commissioner Darragh gave an update on a preliminary joint feasibility study to explore the possibility of extending sewers to portions of Glenfield Borough, Sewickley Hills Borough, and the Glenfield Road and Ferry Road sections of Aleppo.
