We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, August 15, 2022, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • Police Chief Joseph Hanny gave the report for the month of July, and President Jones explained that we are still working to develop an enforcement strategy for the issue of tractor trailers on Redgate Road.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police #TrucksUsingRedgateRoad
  • The Board entered into a 3 year contract with Allegheny County to provide winter maintenance services on County-owned roads within the Township. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #AlleghenyCounty #SnowRemoval

  • General Election Location Update:  Aleppo Township Judge of Elections Shirley Hasson explained that Allegheny County is planning to move the voting location for Aleppo Township from the Township Building to the North Way Christian Community Church at 200 Deer Run Road.  North Way is located down the hill from the Township Building.  All registered voters should be receiving notice in the mail from Allegheny County announcing this change.  We will share any further information we receive.    (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Election

We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, April 19, 2021 and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • The Commissioners approved two Resolutions: they approved the destruction of certain old records as permitted by the Municipal Records Manual, and they adopted a procedure for the sale of Surplus Personal Property (property means old office and/or public works equipment, not real estate property.) (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Resolution

Here is what happened:

  • Kati Doebler, incumbent candidate for the Quaker Valley School Board, reintroduced herself to the Board and Aleppo residents. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #QuakerValleySchoolDistrict
  • The Township Building will host a traveling Glass Recycling Dumpster for a week sometime this summer (we do not know the dates yet.) (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #GlassRecycling

  • The police services contract with Ohio Township is up for renewal. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police

  • The Commissioners discussed a Resolution authorizing the Township Manager to sell Township Personal Property (old equipment, furniture, etc.) in accordance with the regulations in the First Class Township Code.  The Resolution will be voted on at the Legislative meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Resolution

The Aleppo Township Earth Day Roadside Cleanup will be this coming Saturday, April 24, 2021.  We will meet in the parking lot of the Township Building and then head out to clean up along some roads in the Township.  Safety vests, gloves, grabbers, trash bags — and donuts and coffee — will be provided.  Masks will be required when working nearby other volunteers. Come join us on Saturday!

The Board of Commissioners held an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, August 19, 2019 and we wanted to let you know what happened.

Here’s what happened:

  • Police Chief Hanny gave the police update for the month of July.  The Board also discussed idling trucks and speed monitoring signs. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #Police
  • The audience heard a summary of the recent Emergency Management training refresher that the Commissioners and Township Manager received. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #EmergencyManagement
  • The Board authorized Township Engineer Ben Gilberti to complete a final design for paving repair of a section of Rhodes Avenue; made a motion to approve a proposal for Geo-technical Monitoring of Rhodes Avenue and then deferred the motion for one month; and continued the discussion of possible emergency exits from the Sewickley Heights Manor neighborhood.
