We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Tuesday night, March 16, 2021 and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • Chief Hanny gave the police report and some reminders about computer fraud incidents. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police
  • The Watchword Partners Plan of Lots subdivision plan was approved.  This plan subdivided a lot that was in both Aleppo and Glen Osborne and combined the Aleppo portion with a smaller parcel.  This approval is contingent upon the approval of the plan by Glen Osborne Borough as well. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #WatchwordPartnersSubdivisionPlan
  • The Commissioners adopted an Ordinance setting the new stipend rate for Commissioners. This ordinance will take effect for each seat on the Board of Commissioners at the beginning of the next term of office. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Ordinance #Stipend #Commissioners
  • The updated Engineering Services Retainer Agreement between the Township and HRG Engineers was approved. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #HRG

  • Citizen Participation: a resident asked for some more information about the new Commissioner stipend.  The new rate is $3,145 per year, or $262/month. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #CitizenParticipation #Resident #Stipend
  • Earth Day 2021 Roadside Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 beginning at 9:00 AM at the Township Building.  It will be an outdoor-only event.  Masks are required when the group is gathered or when working nearby other volunteers. Here is what happened:

  • The Board voted to participate in a traveling Glass Recycling program for 2021. (Details regarding dates and locations have yet to be determined.) (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #GlassRecycling
  • A revised Retainer Agreement with HRG Engineers will be approved at the March Legislative meeting.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #HRG
  • Watchword Partners has submitted a subdivision plan to subdivide one lot at the municipal boundary of Aleppo and Glen Osborne. Here is what happened:

  • The ASO Joint Comprehensive Plan Adoption Resolution will be on the agenda for adoption at the December Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #ASO #Resolution
  • Ordinances setting the 2021 Real Estate Tax rate and adopting the 2021 Budget will be on the December Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).  The Township millage/property tax rate will stay at 3.5 mills for 2021. #Ordinance #TaxRate #Budget

Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –

This digest contains the updates from both the October Workshop Meeting and the October Legislative Meeting.

Meeting Location Change: the November 11, 2019 Workshop Meeting will be held at the Aleppo Township Fire Station located at 131 Weber Road.  As always, the meeting is open to the public and we welcome your attendance.

Reminder: the Commissioners are still accepting letters of interest from residents to serve on the Board.  (If you recall, Commissioner Michelle Duplaga resigned her seat in September.)  The Board is requesting that letters of interest be submitted by November 11, 2019.  Letters can be mailed to the Township Office at 100 North Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143, emailed to aleppomgr@aleppotownship.com, or hand delivered.

Here’s what happened:

The audio quality from this meeting is somewhat off. (The meeting was held at Masonic Village, and this was our first attempt at filming the meeting off-site.)  The voices are often distorted, and do not sync up exactly with the video, but they are generally understandable.

Here’s what happened:
