Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –

We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, August 16, 2021, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • The Commissioners adopted a Resolution approving the disposal of old records in accordance with the Municipal Records Manual  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Resolution

We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, April 19, 2021 and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • The Commissioners approved two Resolutions: they approved the destruction of certain old records as permitted by the Municipal Records Manual, and they adopted a procedure for the sale of Surplus Personal Property (property means old office and/or public works equipment, not real estate property.) (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Resolution

  • Aleppo Township adopted the Allegheny County 2020 Hazard Mitigation Plan.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #AlleghenyCounty

  • Commissioner Richert reported on the most recent meeting with Amazon, and she discussed an email from a resident reminding people to clean up after their dogs while walking them. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Amazon #Resident
  • Planning and Zoning: the Commissioners approved the Mygrant Development Plan for Parcel B in the 79 North Industrial Park for a new warehouse building to be constructed along Deer Run Road; they approved the DEP Resolution for New Land Development for the same proposed building; and they approved an addendum to the Developer’s Agreement between the Township and Alderman Holdings Deer Run Road LLC regarding the parking modifications that were recently approved.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #MygrantDevelopmentPlan #DEP #DeerRunRoad
  • The Commissioners voted to approve a stipend increase for the position of Tax Collector/Treasurer.  This stipend will increase to $3,145 per year to match the Commissioner salary increase, and will take effect following the next election. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Stipend #TaxCollector
  • Commissioner Darragh gave the Aleppo Township Authority report, including updates on delinquent accounts, the Culligan manhole repair project, and the Kilbuck Run sewer study. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #AleppoTownshipAuthority #Sewer

We had an Aleppo Workshop Meeting on Monday night, April 12, 2021 and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • Kati Doebler, incumbent candidate for the Quaker Valley School Board, reintroduced herself to the Board and Aleppo residents. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #QuakerValleySchoolDistrict
  • The Township Building will host a traveling Glass Recycling Dumpster for a week sometime this summer (we do not know the dates yet.) (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #GlassRecycling
  • A Document Destruction Resolution, which authorizes the destruction of some old financial records and other township files, will be voted on at the Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Resolution

  • The police services contract with Ohio Township is up for renewal. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police
  • A proposal from HRG Engineers for a Road Weight Limit Study was discussed and will be considered again in May. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #HRG #WeightLimitRoadBonding
  • The Commissioners discussed a Resolution authorizing the Township Manager to sell Township Personal Property (old equipment, furniture, etc.) in accordance with the regulations in the First Class Township Code.  The Resolution will be voted on at the Legislative meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Resolution

The Aleppo Township Earth Day Roadside Cleanup will be this coming Saturday, April 24, 2021.  We will meet in the parking lot of the Township Building and then head out to clean up along some roads in the Township.  Safety vests, gloves, grabbers, trash bags — and donuts and coffee — will be provided.  Masks will be required when working nearby other volunteers. Come join us on Saturday!
