Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –

We had an Aleppo Workshop Meeting on Monday night, December 11, 2023, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • Ordinances setting the 2024 Real Estate Tax Rate and adopting the 2024 Budget will be on the agenda for adoption at the December Legislative Meeting. There is no proposed real estate tax increase in the 2024 budget. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #RealEstateTaxRate #Budget
  • The 2023 Paving Project is mostly completed for the season. The Township Building parking lot will be repaved in the spring. The Board is scheduled to approve two change orders to the paving contract at the December Legislative Meeting.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #PavingProject
  • 2024 Meeting Dates for the Workshop, Legislative, and Planning Commission meetings have been set.  The dates are on the calendar on the Township’s website (www.aleppotownship.com). (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #MeetingDates
  • The Reorganization Meeting will be held on January 2, 2024 at 7:00 PM.  It is the Board’s intent to also have that meeting serve as the January Workshop Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Reorganization

1/3/2022 Reorganization and Workshop Digest

Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –

We had an Aleppo Reorganization and Workshop Meeting on Monday night, January 3, 2022, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

** This meeting served as both the Reorganization Meeting and the Workshop Meeting – there will not be a Workshop Meeting tonight. **

Here is what happened:

  • The first draft of the revised Zoning Ordinance will be presented at the Legislative Meeting on January 17, 2022. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #ZoningOrdinance
  • The Township received a request for an ordinance restricting parking on roads in high density housing areas. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Ordinance #Parking

The final Legislative Meeting of 2021 was held on December 20, 2021.

Here is what happened:

  • The 2022 Real Estate Tax Rate Ordinance and Budget Ordinance were adopted.  There will be no Real Estate Tax increase in Aleppo for 2022 – the millage rate will stay at 3.5 mills.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Sergeant Beck of the Ohio Township Police Department gave the monthly police report. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Tim Scott gave the Public Works report. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Commissioner Richert explained the policy regarding reading emails at Township Meetings.  If you would like an email to be read at a meeting, please send the email to Township Manager Gwen Patterson (aleppomgr@aleppotownship.com) and specify in the email that you would like it to be read at the meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • Tax Collector/Treasurer Clayton Steup gave the reports for the month of November 2021. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).
  • The Board adopted a Resolution detailing the terms of a voluntary annual contribution to the sewer budget of the Aleppo Township Authority.   (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).

Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –

We have several announcements about upcoming events:

  • The Township offices will be closed on the following days for the holidays: Thursday December 23rd, Friday December 24th, Thursday December 30th, and Friday December 31st. #HolidayOfficeClosure
  • The Annual Christmas Tree Recycling will be on Monday, January 3, 2022.  Please have your trees at the curb by 8:00 AM.  Aleppo residents will receive a red postcard in the mail with the collection details. #ChristmasTreeRecycling

We had an Aleppo Reorganization/Workshop Meeting on Monday night, January 6, 2020 and I wanted to tell you what happened. 

* Scheduling Note – because the meeting was a combined Reorganization Meeting and Workshop Meeting, there will NOT be a Workshop meeting this coming Monday (January 13th.)  The next meeting will be the Legislative Meeting on January 20, 2020. *

Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –

This digest contains the updates from both the October Workshop Meeting and the October Legislative Meeting.

Meeting Location Change: the November 11, 2019 Workshop Meeting will be held at the Aleppo Township Fire Station located at 131 Weber Road.  As always, the meeting is open to the public and we welcome your attendance.

Reminder: the Commissioners are still accepting letters of interest from residents to serve on the Board.  (If you recall, Commissioner Michelle Duplaga resigned her seat in September.)  The Board is requesting that letters of interest be submitted by November 11, 2019.  Letters can be mailed to the Township Office at 100 North Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143, emailed to aleppomgr@aleppotownship.com, or hand delivered.

The audio quality from this meeting is somewhat off. (The meeting was held at Masonic Village, and this was our first attempt at filming the meeting off-site.)  The voices are often distorted, and do not sync up exactly with the video, but they are generally understandable.

Here’s what happened:

  • Chief Hanny of the Ohio Township Police Department gave his report and shared information about some recent scam phone calls that have been happening in our area.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #Police
