We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, April 19, 2021 and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:
- The Commissioners approved two Resolutions: they approved the destruction of certain old records as permitted by the Municipal Records Manual, and they adopted a procedure for the sale of Surplus Personal Property (property means old office and/or public works equipment, not real estate property.) - Chief Hanny gave the monthly Police report. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police
- Aleppo Township adopted the Allegheny County 2020 Hazard Mitigation Plan. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #AlleghenyCounty

- Commissioner Richert reported on the most recent meeting with Amazon, and she discussed an email from a resident reminding people to clean up after their dogs while walking them. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Amazon #Resident
- Planning and Zoning: the Commissioners approved the Mygrant Development Plan for Parcel B in the 79 North Industrial Park for a new warehouse building to be constructed along Deer Run Road; they approved the DEP Resolution for New Land Development for the same proposed building; and they approved an addendum to the Developer’s Agreement between the Township and Alderman Holdings Deer Run Road LLC regarding the parking modifications that were recently approved. - The Commissioners voted to approve a stipend increase for the position of Tax Collector/Treasurer. This stipend will increase to $3,145 per year to match the Commissioner salary increase, and will take effect following the next election. We had an Aleppo Workshop Meeting on Monday night, April 12, 2021 and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:
- Kati Doebler, incumbent candidate for the Quaker Valley School Board, reintroduced herself to the Board and Aleppo residents. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #QuakerValleySchoolDistrict
- The Township Building will host a traveling Glass Recycling Dumpster for a week sometime this summer (we do not know the dates yet.) (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #GlassRecycling
- A Document Destruction Resolution, which authorizes the destruction of some old financial records and other township files, will be voted on at the Legislative Meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Resolution
- Adoption of the Allegheny County Hazard Mitigation Plan was discussed. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #AlleghenyCounty
- The police services contract with Ohio Township is up for renewal. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police
- A proposal from HRG Engineers for a Road Weight Limit Study was discussed and will be considered again in May. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #HRG #WeightLimitRoadBonding
- The Commissioners discussed a Resolution authorizing the Township Manager to sell Township Personal Property (old equipment, furniture, etc.) in accordance with the regulations in the First Class Township Code. The Aleppo Township Earth Day Roadside Cleanup will be this coming Saturday, April 24, 2021. We will meet in the parking lot of the Township Building and then head out to clean up along some roads in the Township. Safety vests, gloves, grabbers, trash bags — and donuts and coffee — will be provided. Masks will be required when working nearby other volunteers. Come join us on Saturday!

We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Tuesday night, March 16, 2021 and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:
- Chief Hanny gave the police report and some reminders about computer fraud incidents. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police
- The Watchword Partners Plan of Lots subdivision plan was approved. This plan subdivided a lot that was in both Aleppo and Glen Osborne and combined the Aleppo portion with a smaller parcel. - The Commissioners adopted an Ordinance setting the new stipend rate for Commissioners. This ordinance will take effect for each seat on the Board of Commissioners at the beginning of the next term of office. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Ordinance #Stipend #Commissioners
- The updated Engineering Services Retainer Agreement between the Township and HRG Engineers was approved. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #HRG

- Citizen Participation: a resident asked for some more information about the new Commissioner stipend. The new rate is $3,145 per year, or $262/month. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #CitizenParticipation #Resident #Stipend
- Earth Day 2021 Roadside Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 beginning at 9:00 AM at the Township Building. It will be an outdoor-only event. Here is what happened:

- A revised Retainer Agreement with HRG Engineers will be approved at the March Legislative meeting. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #HRG
- Watchword Partners has submitted a subdivision plan to subdivide one lot at the municipal boundary of Aleppo and Glen Osborne. They plan to combine the Aleppo portion of the lot with a smaller adjacent lot. This plan will be voted on at the March Legislative meeting.
