4/8/2019 Legislative Digest
Hi, Neighbors. We had an Aleppo Workshop Meeting on Monday night and I wanted to tell you what happened.
Before I get into the bullet list, let me plug an upcoming event. We will be holding our Third Annual Earth Day event on Saturday, April 27 at 9:00 AM. Over the past two years, this event has been growing bigger and bigger. Last year, we had 22 participants and collected 45 bags of trash, 20 tires, and 1 car battery. This is great for our community and it’s great for our planet. This year, we’ll gather for coffee and donuts in the Township Building, where we’ll have a brief educational component discussing changes to the recycling industry (with an emphasis on the changes in glass recycling). Then, we’ll hit the streets. We will–literally!–be cleaning up your neighborhood. So please join us … it’s a fun community event and it’s a great way to improve the place where you live. - We continued the discussion of the potential sale of vacant lot 422-G-351 and heard that Allegheny County has ordered an appraisal. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #VacantLot #AlleghenyCounty

- The Township Manager told us that an engineer would be at our next meeting to present the William Eaton Subdivision Plan, which is a development in Osborne that may affect Aleppo. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #EatonSubdivisionPlan

- We talked about techniques to reduce speeding on township roads and agreed to have our engineers and Public Works crews investigate further. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #Speeding #PublicWorks
- A motion was proposed to “authorize our solicitor to draft an amendment to our fracking ordnance to include seismic survey, injection well, and use table default for unlisted uses using the Belle Acres ordinances for reference.” We will be voting on this issue at our next meeting, so if you have thoughts to share on this issue, please send them to me by email. - One of our residents asked questions about mirrors placed on roads throughout the municipality and another resident asked a question about speed control. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting.) #Speeding
