Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –

We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, April 18, 2022, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • Ohio Township Police Chief Hanny gave the police report for the month of March. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police
  • An email from a resident regarding Citizen Participation procedures was read and addressed during the Communications report. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #CitizenParticipation
  • The Tax Collector/Treasurer reports were presented. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #TaxCollector
  • The Quaker Valley COG Hard to Recycle Event Hosted by the Pennsylvania Resources Council will return to Quaker Valley High School this year. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).  Updated information: there will be two separate events this year – one for Household Chemicals and one for Hard to Recycle items.  Pre-registration is required for both events – please visit prc.org for information about the allowable items and to register for these collection events.  Links are also available on the Latest News page of the Township website. #QuakerValleyCOG #Recycling #HardToRecycleEvent
  • The property owner and the Township are still working to find resources to address the complaint about the cat colony on Nancy Drive. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #CatPopulation
  • A meeting has been scheduled between the Township’s Parking Committee and the Sewickley Heights Manor Homeowners Association regarding the Sewickley Heights Drive Parking Regulation and Island Control Requests (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #SewickleyHeightsManor #SewickleyHeightsDrive #Parking

2/17/2020 Legislative Digest

Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –

We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday, February 17, 2020 and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:

  • The Commissioners heard about the various options for changes to the parking regulations in the C-2 Commercial Industrial Zoning District, and they heard resident comments and concerns about the issue. The Board voted 5-0 to authorize the Solicitor to work with the Engineers to design a parking overlay district.  (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting).  {Note: the overlay district is still being designed, so no action is scheduled on this issue for tonight’s Workshop meeting.} #ParkingOverlay #AmendmentToTheZoningOrdinance
  • During the Communications report, the Board heard about two emails received from residents regarding glass recycling. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #GlassRecycling #Residents
  • The Board approved a motion advertise the procedural amendment to incorporate the Oil & Gas Regulations into the Zoning Ordinance. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting), #AmendmentToTheZoningOrdinance
  • The Commissioners received the Tax Collector and Treasurer reports for the month of January 2020. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #TaxCollector
  • Commissioner Darragh gave the Aleppo Township Authority report, and the Board voted 5-0 to transfer $35,000 from the Township’s sewer bond refinance funds to the Aleppo Township Authority for the purchase of water meters. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #AleppoTownshipAuthority #WaterMeters
  • The Commissioners learned that the Township submitted a successful application to the Local Government Academy (LGA) Intern Program and will share an intern this summer with Glen Osborne Borough and Kilbuck Township.  The intern will work on GIS projects in the three communities.
