Hello Aleppo Residents and Friends –
We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, January 16, 2023, and I wanted to tell you what happened.

Here is what happened:
- The Ordinance prohibiting the feeding of deer was adopted. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Deer #Ordinance
- Chief Hanny gave the December 2022 police report and announced the upcoming I-79 South ramp closure. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #Police #RampClosure
- Public Works Supervisor Tim Scott gave the Public Works report. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #PublicWorks
- The Tax Collector/Treasurer report was given to the Commissioners. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #TaxCollector
- The Quaker Valley COG will host a GIS mapping presentation at the Sewickley Library in February. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #QuakerValleyCOG #GIS
- The Commissioners approved the design and bid agreement with HRG Engineering for the 2023 Paving Project. The bid results will determine the scope of the project, but the goal is to pave Sewickley Ridge Drive, Sewickley Ridge Circle, and Sewickley Ridge Court and to tar and chip multiple roads throughout the Township, including roads in the Weber Road neighborhood, McCoy Place Road, and South McCoy Place Road. Here is what happened:

- The Commissioners voted to approve the Real Estate Tax Ordinance setting the millage for 2021 and adopted the 2021 Budget Ordinance. The millage (real estate tax rate for Aleppo Township) will remain at 3.5 mills for 2021. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #TaxRate #Budget

We had an Aleppo Legislative Meeting on Monday night, November 16, 2020 and I wanted to tell you what happened.
Before the start of the regular Legislative Meeting, the Board held a Conditional Use Hearing to consider amending the approvals for the commercial garages located at 695 Glen Mitchell Road (Louie & Sons). They also learned about the Trapizona Plan of Lots No. 4 Subdivision Plan submitted for the same property. Here is what happened:

- We are currently in the public comment period for the updated ASO Joint Comprehensive Plan between Aleppo, Sewickley, and Glen Osborne. Here is what happened:
- Tax Collector/Treasurer Clayton Steup gave the financial report for the month of September. (Click here to watch this portion of the meeting). #TaxCollector

- Commissioner Judy Haluka announced that the Quaker Valley Ambulance Authority is changing their municipal assessment program. Under the prior model, the Township paid a $9 per capita fee, which covered 100% of any out-of-pocket costs for ambulance services (after insurance reimbursement.) Under the new model, this $9 per capita fee will cover 50% of the out-of-pocket costs after insurance. Please contact the QVAA at 412-262-2621 if you have questions about this new policy. The Aleppo Township Board of Commissioners will be meeting in person in the Township building for their October 19, 2020 Legislative Meeting. However, to ensure proper social distancing, we will be limiting the number of people in the room at one time. Anyone attending the meeting must wear a face mask. We encourage residents to submit their comments in advance of the meeting when possible.
