Waste Management serves Aleppo Township for Trash and Recycling Collection

  • For the 2024 Waste Management Collection Schedule for residents of Aleppo Township and information about Collection Times, Missed Collections, Inclement Weather, Restricted Items, Bulk Trash Collection, and Recycling click here.
  • Waste Management is asking residents to practice the following good recycling habits:
    • Recycle only plastic bottles, jugs, jars & tubs and food & beverage cans; containers should be rinsed free of debris and liquid,
    • Place acceptable items loose in a curbside bin (please do NOT place items in plastic bags),
    • Bundles of paper or flattened cardboard & paperboard should be tied together, and
    • Do NOT include in your curbside recycling bin the following items: Plastic bags, food waste, foam cups & containers, clamshell packaging, needles, glass bottles, and yard waste.

Glass Recycling

The Quaker Valley Council of Governments (QVCOG) has two permanent local locations for glass recycling that are open to all QVCOG communities – this includes Aleppo residents. The glass dumpsters are located at Sewickley Riverfront Park at 300 Chadwick St, Sewickley, PA 15143 and Avalon Borough across from the Public Works Facility at 629 New Brighton Rd, Avalon, PA 15202. Residential Yard Waste Drop-off

The Quaker Valley COG has partnered with Michael Brothers in Reserve Township for a Residential Yard Waste Drop-off program.  At this time, there is no charge to drop off your yard waste. This pilot program is open to individual homeowners/residents within the Quaker Valley COG communities, but is not open to any commercial businesses and/or landscapers. Hard to Recycle Collection Event

The Quaker Valley COG has partnered with the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) for a Hard to Recycle Collection Event on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Leetsdale Industrial Park, 380 Leetsdale Industrial Drive, Leetsdale, PA 15056.

A $5 Participant Fee includes unlimited recycling of cell and home phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment, expanded polystyrene packaging material, microwave ovens, stereo equipment, VCRs, DVD players, and cable boxes. Click here for a list of additional items and fees.

Household Recycling Drop-off Locations

Michael Brothers accepts household recycling items, including Plastics #3-7 (not allowed in our curbside recycling), glass, and cardboard at two full service drive-thru recycling facilities.  These locations are open to the public and are located in the South Hills and the North Hills.
